NEW MORNING | A new day for an old home: elevated roof lines, expansive windows, and considerate transitions brought the best moments on this site into the daylight.

There is a local term for homes built before 1990 - “Cowboy Construction”. And so this expansive remodel began atop that foundation with a goal of fully modernizing the home. Our client was discerning, a former builder himself, and sought to turn a modest home into a legacy. We leveraged this home's border with a non-residential recreation area to emphasize views in the right places. Functionality was key and by introducing radiant heat, air conditioning, and smart home technology we brought this home into modern standards.

One of our favorite details is in this home. An architectural cloud above the kitchen island. Suspended from the ceiling, 20’+ white oak timbers with inlaid LED lights. A fully functional “wow” moment. We still argue with the client about whose idea it was. Maybe we’re both right.
